The weekend started on Good Friday. Brad and Ally went to the Snowflake Temple, with our ward Youth temple trip. They rode on a charter bus, which they said was a lot of fun! They had a great time, and enjoyed a road trip with our ward’s youth and leaders!
While they were gone, the rest of us just relaxed. For Kacey and Cambree, it was a pajama and wii kind of day.
Then later, they had a couple friends over. When these 4 girls get together, there is always lots of giggling and fun. They all get along so great! Hunter loves to join in with them sometimes, too.
Hunter and his smiley eggs!
Saturday morning we took off to Flagstaff to spend a couple days with Teri and Troy, Brad’s Aunt and Uncle. We were excited to spend time visiting their family, and also go to their stake conference where Elder Russell M. Nelson would be speaking to us!
We followed up Brad’s parents, and then met the rest of the gang at a yummy little place called Bun Huggers. It was a good hamburger place that grilled over mesquite charcoal. Good food and good company= a good time!
On the left is Carl Cook, who is a new member of the 70’s who also spoke to us. Then next is Elder Nelson. His talk was so good, and I love how during a Stake conference, they are so much more interractive than General conference.
Here are a few of the highlights of his talk that i really loved.
- He asked all the primary kids to stand up. Then he asked them to sing “I am a Child of God.” They did so, and it was so sweet, I loved it. After they sang, he said, I feel like the Savior must have felt when he came among the people and had all the children brought to him.
- Then he asked what the primary song about prophets was called. Someone behind him said “Follow the Prophet”. So then he turned to the girl who directed the choir and said, would you stand and sing it for us? She was like… um, with the primary kids?? He said, “no that’s ok, just you".” She said, Oh-kaay… then she started singing… “Follow the prophet, follow the prophet,…. and after a while, the choir behind her joined in. (That would be a lot of people to sing a solo (unaccompanied) in front of. This place was packed, and broadcast to 4 other buildings!)
- Then he asked all the 14 year old boys to stand, and then talked about Joseph Smith. It made me realize how young he was at that time.
At the end of his talk, he gave an Apostolic blessing. In that he gave a blessing of healing. Which was a good thing….
Unfortunately, Hunter got sick the day we left to go up there. He got a bad cough, a fever, red droopy eyes and just felt plain crappy! He felt bad the whole time we were there.
However! The next morning after we got home, he woke up and was completely fine. No fever through the night, and was all better. I don’t think it was a coincident.
Here he is asleep on grandpa’s lap, after he had FINALLY fallen asleep. So sweet.
Having fun jumping on the trampoline, even though it was super windy and freezing! The girls were really happy they got Squinkies in their Easter basket. It was something they had been wanting for a while!
They loved looking in the field next to their house and looking at the Prairie Dogs.
It was such a beautiful view off the back porch. When we woke up in the morning, we saw Mt. Humphrey's right out the back door.Big, magestic and a little snow on top.
For Easter dinner, Brad’s Uncle Troy grilled up the best ribs, along with some yummy salads. It was delicioso!! It was really nice to relax and visit with everyone.
After dinner, we sang Happy birthday to Brad, who’s birthday is Monday, the next day, and ate Strawberry Cheesecake that I made.
Cousin Alec with Abby, the boxer!

What a great Easter weekend! Love the Easter egg faces. What a creative idea.
I've always wanted to have an apostle come to our stake but nope, instead they come to all the stakes around us.
Sounds like you guys had a great time in Flagstaff. Cheese cake looks yummy!
